Release notes

The history of A11Yneeds release notes, from the newest publication to the oldest.

Version 1.1.393 — what’s new since 1.1.392

Published:

Android available in Switzerland (User app — Google Play)

The User app can now be downloaded from Google Play in Switzerland without joining the beta programme. In other countries, registration as a beta tester is still required.

This version reorganises institution tools, clarifies access permissions and improves the web and Windows interfaces.

Pilot: a dedicated institution management programme (web and Windows)

Pilot brings together institution settings, Request configuration, referenced files, members, their permissions and authorised devices.
These functions are separate from file editing in Build and request processing in Request. Pilot uses a black visual identity and a simple gear icon.
The public path for hosted files and their private storage are clearly indicated. Switching institutions is offered only when several institutions are accessible.

Independent permissions for each activity (web and Windows)

Access to Request, Build and Pilot is separate. Someone can administer an institution without being able to edit its files in Build or process its requests in Request.
Only institution administrators can manage its settings and permissions. A safeguard prevents removal of the last active administrator.

Clearly identified professional sign-in (Build, Request and Pilot — Windows)

A professional account is required to use the business software, including when files are saved only on the PC.
Build and Request distinguish between having no institution, which invites you to create one in Pilot, and insufficient permissions, which invites you to contact the institution administrator.

Create an institution from Pilot (web and Windows)

Anyone signed in with a professional account can open Pilot to create an institution, even if they do not administer any of the institutions they already belong to.
They become the administrator of the new institution without gaining additional permissions in the others. Creation remains accessible from Pilot after opening an existing institution.

Hosted mode offered by default (institutions — web and Windows)

Institutions have free access to hosted mode with no time limit. This mode keeps their files on the server rather than only on a PC. Other operating modes remain available in institution settings.

Drafts separate from published files (Build — web and Windows, hosted mode)

Changes are saved in an unpublished draft. The official file remains unchanged until publication has been explicitly confirmed.
The file status distinguishes work in progress from its published version.

Better protection for shared work (Build — web and Windows, hosted mode)

Other people working on a file are indicated. Revisions are checked to prevent a concurrent save from silently overwriting someone else’s work.
Conflicts are reported and publication based on an older revision is refused. Work can therefore be checked before replacing the official version.

Clearer division of functions between Request and Pilot (web and Windows)

Request processing remains in Request. Institution settings are grouped in Pilot, while local Request preferences stay in that programme.
Links between programmes have been adapted to this new organisation.

Clearer navigation (website)

The menu groups User: Profile and Access; Institution, with Professionals: Request and Link; then Management: Build and Pilot.
Icons distinguish a signed-out account, a signed-in professional and a selected institution. On narrow screens, only the icon for the current area is shown.
Without professional sign-in, the relevant programmes remain greyed out. Clicking explains how to sign in. After selecting an institution, authorised programmes become accessible. Pilot remains available to create another institution.

Simpler forms and downloads (website)

The email address field is wider and sign-in controls are better arranged.
The top toolbar is simpler: it no longer needlessly repeats the programme name already selected in navigation.
Build and Pilot share one download box for institutions, with links beside their titles. Android and iPhone installation pages are also simplified.

News comes to Windows software (Build, Request and Pilot — Windows)

A News button now lets you read information about project developments directly in these programmes. This function already existed in the User app.
No news reader is added to the public website in this version.

A switch for automatic news (User app — Android and iOS; Build, Request and Pilot — Windows)

A switch lets you disable automatic loading and opening of news. Your choice is remembered.
You can still read news voluntarily, even when automatic news is disabled.

Windows better adapted to the screen (Build, Request and Pilot — Windows)

The programmes open in a large, non-maximised window, slightly smaller than the available area.
Sizing accounts for the frame, title bar and Windows taskbar. The window remains fully visible without extending under the taskbar or beyond the edges of the screen.

Revised presentations and explanations (website)

The presentation video, narration and subtitles have been revised in French, English, German and Italian.
The pages for users, professionals and institutions, together with the FAQ, explain the tools and everyone’s roles more clearly.

Release notes available on the web (website)

The Help menu links to a Release notes page showing the complete published history, with the newest publications first. This page can be read without signing in and without JavaScript. It is not a news feed: no automatic opening or notification is added to the website.

Version 1.1.392 — release in progress

Published:

A11Yneeds is moving to version 1.1.392. Its release has been submitted on Android and iOS. It will become available progressively once the stores have completed their reviews; the exact timing may vary by platform, account and device.

This version lets you send free-form feedback about A11Yneeds from Settings. You will not receive an individual reply. Feedback is used only to improve the app and may be analysed by artificial intelligence: do not enter any personal data.

When you open an accessibility file, if you do not yet have a profile, a message guides you to complete it and then return to Access.

The display and links have been harmonised to make reading and navigation easier. The « DE / MO » button replaces the question mark and loads the demo in the interface language. The four demo files are synchronised, linked to each other and their preparation information has been reviewed.

Update 1.1.391

Published:

A11Yneeds news is now available directly in the app, including information, release notes and messages for beta testers. The feed is available in French, German, Italian and English. This version also introduces the new A11Yneeds app icon.
